As marketing and technology have become increasingly complex and fast moving, clients need better ways to increase marketing and media effectiveness and efficiency and time to market, and
they’re seeking out new platforms and services to help them achieve and maintain competitive advantage. At the same time, the maturation of cloud-based computing and software-as-a-Service (SaaS) business models are changing the game in terms of how these platforms are delivered and sold. Based on these trends and increasing client demandRazorfish are pursuing a strategic initiative to create a Digital Marketing Platform and Services offering.


The Channel Business Development Director is responsible for cultivating and managing new sales activities that result in reaching and exceeding sales targets for the Digital Marketing Platform and
Services group. The Director will focus on sales activities with existing client service personnel and partner sales organizations to help achieve sales goals.


This role requires strong written and verbal communication skills with executive management and coordination with a cross-functional teams. Candidates must be comfortable working in a start-up
environment that is dynamic and fast paced as well as within the constraints and challenges of a large multinational parent organization.

Core Duties/Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop strong relationships with client service professionals and others throughout a large global holding company network to understand specific opportunities, leads, and engagements.
  • Actively prospect for opportunities within the network’s and partner client base.
  • Regularly communicate the platform message and strategy to the broad set of client service professionals in the network.
  • Develop pursuit strategies
  • Pursue and close new business.
  • Drive RFI/RFP responses
  • Work with Marketing Director and Solution Architects to develop needed sales and marketing materials
  • Deliver sales and co-sales presentations in person to prospective clients. Coordinate the sales cycle from start to close including bringing together a cross-functional team.
  • Maintain a detailed online pipeline
  • Formulate and negotiate pricing and contracts
  • Prepare all sales and pipeline reporting.
  • Actively monitor competitive offerings and solutions.

Required Skills/Knowledge/Experience

 

  • Experience working directly with senior management, direct sales and large partners
  • Self-motivated individual capable of working in a face-paced, dynamic and sometimes ambiguous environment
  • Experience selling solutions and/or applications to marketing professionals.
  • High level of professionalism -- must thrive on teamwork and building consensus and gaining shared vision on complex issues
  • Significant experience and exposure to agency (advertising, digital, media) and/or professional services environment (software development and product support)
  • Strong business acumen, as well as strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with ability to draw conclusions based on data
  • Detail and results oriented; skilled at both planning and hands-on execution
  • Ability to excel in a team-oriented, collaborative, and fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills 
  • Bachelor's degree and 5-7 years of product marketing experience, MBA a plus
  • Software sales experience required, experience in SaaS or cloud services sales a plus
  • Proven success in targeting and converting to closed sales with large clients
  • Proven ability to co-sell with client service professionals
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills
  • Self-motivated and directed with ability to work independently with minimal direction.
  • Significant exposure to numerous digital technologies and solutions; content management systems, e-commerce, mobile, social, ad servers, media platforms, business intelligence and analytics/data management
