VP, Creative: The VP, Creative(VPC) serves as an idea generator, a pitch master, a teacher, a mentor, and a touchstone to help assure creative excellence among the senior creative team. As the group continues to grow and evolve, the VPC helps inspire and coach Creative Directors and their teams toward creating breakthrough brand experiences for clients. In addition, the VPC plays a strong leadership role in business development, senior client relationships, and agency management relationships.

Core Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Manages and leads Creative Directors to improve their work and develop continuous thought leadership for their teams and clients. This includes: ensuring CD's manage client expectations, effectively mentoring and managing their respective teams
  • Develop and implement a process for deliverables review that assures maximum collaboration and creative excellence
  • Maintain accountability for all creative briefs to assure correct level of project aspiration and to assure each brief meets Razorfish standards
  • Uphold quality standards of all creative deliverables
  • Establishes and maintains lasting and supportive senior level relationships with clients
  • Work with Creative Directors to stage meetings and events to promote a robust and exciting exchange of ideas and opinions about the industry and our agency's environment and products
  • Represents Razorfish as a thought leader within industry organizations and participates as an awards judge
  • Shares responsibility for new business efforts, collaborates with Business Development, and Creative Directors in crafting pitches for new business, or to grow existing client relationships

  • Foster an environment of multidisciplinary collaboration and creative problem-solving. Ensuring our internal processes, training and knowledge sharing reinforce this perspective

Required Skills/Knowledge/Experience

  • Nationally / internationally recognized creative awards list
  • Strong portfolio with relevant undergraduate and/or graduate degree
  • 15+ years experience in large-scale creative management
  • Acknowledged thought-leader
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strong relationships with high-level clients
  • Subject matter expert in 1-2 core business categories / creative capabilities
  • Proven expertise at motivating and managing Creative Directors in developing, communicating, and selling industry-leading concepts to clients
  • Solid understanding and appreciation for the distinction between creative expression and business objectives
  • Expert at developing large-scale websites, microsites, interactive advertising, e-commerce, and online brand management and integration, with demonstrated results
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective organizational approach, performance management orientation, and superb interpersonal skills
  • Clear, compelling, and charismatic presenter in business development and public speaking settings
