You are a talented Art Director who is responsible for concept development, and the translation of effective visual designs for highly immersive interactive projects at the intersection of physical and digital experiences. Under the direction of a Creative Lead (CD, ACD, Sr Art Director), you will work on several projects at a time and will be involved in all phases of creative development. You may also be responsible for planning and executing portions of projects independently or in conjunction with junior creative staff or freelancers. You may also be involved in new business projects. You work independently, with moderate oversight from your manager.

Our work is a marriage of art, science & business. The award-winning Razorfish Emerging Experiences practice is a dedicated team focused solely on cutting edge experiences and technologies.
EE performs 3 basic functions, all related to innovation:
1. Enable client innovation teams - EE partners with clients to help them incubate, prototype and shepherd ideas though their organization

Core Duties/Responsibilities:
CONCEPTING
In partnership with leadership, contributes to the creation of breakthrough, on-strategy concepts through active participation in brainstorms and other idea-generating sessions.
Helps establish look and feel of concepts.
Has an advanced knowledge of client’s business objectives, brand, consumer and competitive landscape to inform design concepts and execution.
Understands role of creative brief, how work should flow from it, and how to develop ideas against it.
Presents creative concepts and designs and communicates rationale to team.
DESIGN
Leverages an advanced understanding of technology, user interface design and visual design in generating/leading a project’s creative team to generate an effective range of designs/layouts for all elements of the creative solution that address program objectives, and are visually appealing and motivating.
Stays current on and strategically applies the latest industry and design trends and state-of-the-art techniques. Has strong understanding of many digital best practices.
Designs and begins to direct others to design mood boards, comps (with and without wireframes), concept sketches, presentation decks and storyboards. May also contribute content to decks.
Prepares and presents layouts/samples to supervisor for direction and approval. Incorporates revisions per client and/or team feedback as appropriate. Ensures their layouts and the team’s conform to creative brief and style guides.
Manages the creation and maintenance of style guides/online design libraries to accompany final deliverables.
COLLABORATION
Works enthusiastically, respectfully and collaboratively with other team members on assigned accounts, understanding how the account operates and their and other team members’ roles and responsibilities across the account.
Partners with creative lead, experience and technology at different levels to ensure the solution meets brief and program objectives.
Considers technology requirements and designs a solution that complements the technical strategy and/or partners with the technology staff to overcome implementation obstacles.
Has a basic understanding of when to leverage other disciplines (i.e. media, strategy) in the creation of the work.
PROJECT EXECUTION
Frequently touches base with the creative and delivery leads to ensure deliverables are on time and map to the creative brief. Proactively suggests solutions to issues that may impact quality or timing of deliverables.
Actively participates in team meetings to discuss assignment parameters.
Ensures that their and junior creative resources’ deliverables meet deadlines and follow appropriate approval procedures.
Independently manages and prioritizes work effectively, and proactively escalates work load conflicts.
Develops tools and recommendations to improve current processes that impact client deliverables.
COMMUNITY & BUSINESS CONTRIBUTION
Responsible for giving continuous feedback to peers, completing self-review, inputting time consistently, and being aware of personal utilization target.
Actively develops and may lead community-building events.
Serves as a mentor to employee(s) on projects.
Contributes to the development of the creative team’s culture and quality standards in pursuit of elevating the creative product.
Required Skills/Knowledge/Experience
Excellent eye for design, imaginative, well organized, good-natured, dedicated, flexible and passionate, you bring a sophisticated understanding of visual and experience design, typography, composition and color theory. You also bring an understanding of how to partner with content strategy, copywriting, technology and media. Besides a Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, Multi-Media Design (or a related field), you have the following:
Exceptional digital design portfolio that demonstrates conceptual thinking and an ability to define look and feel for integrated experiences
4+ years design experience, preferably in an interactive agency
Expert command of standard design and layout applications
Has managed and may have led multiple assignments at the same time (including organizing and prioritizing workload, and working efficiently under pressure in a deadline-driven environment).
Advanced understanding of the digital landscape, including everything from ecommerce websites, immersive and personalized online experiences to online campaigns, social media and mobile.
Creative problem solving skills that enable you to help establish a look and feel for a given project, evaluate a creative approach, brainstorm, think and respond quickly while delivering unexpected, original and innovative ideas;
Careful attention to detail and management of version control issues.
Advanced knowledge of and the ability to help manage the production process (e.g. optimizing graphics, compression settings and file size and image optimization
Strong written and verbal communication skills. Able to clearly articulate your creative process, thoughts, ideas and a point of view about your work.
