The Learning & Development Manager is responsible for partnering with the Regional Leadership Team and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to develop and deliver grass-roots, business-specific training solutions. We are looking for a strong business manager with digital marketing chops who has built this program before and comes in with a defined opinion, but willingness to adapt to specifics in our industry.  You are a motivated, no-bullshit
self-starter. Creative, pragmatic, with a relaxed yet enthusiastic attitude. 

Core Duties/Responsibilities:

What you'll do:

 

  • Works with Regional Leadership Team, HR Team and Discipline Leads to understand overall business needs and define plans and prioritization for business-specific training.
  • Works with National L&D Logistics Manager to execute on national plans for common needs such as Leadership Development, Manager Development (LWI), Professional Skills Training (including presentation skills, etc.).
  • Works with Director of OD and National Planning and Logistics Manager to identify training providers to meet the strategic needs of the organization.  Follows up with training providers to get materials, proposals, schedule capabilities calls/demos and negotiate contracts.
  • Coordinates with Regional DTAS L&D Managers to ensure coordination of efforts and greater synergies/efficiencies.
  • Administers and maintains regional training calendar, ensuring that training initiatives are timed appropriately.
  • Communicates upcoming training opportunities to the leadership team as well as employees, to ensure that everyone is aware of the training options that are available to them
  • Works with Regional Team to define on boarding strategy and
    business requirements, and translates them into an effective, efficient on
    boarding program for new hires.  This includes working with the internal team to facilitate the development of orientation training materials/resources, scheduling of all orientation sessions, maintaining the orientation calendar, and the maintenance of the “Newbie” center for their region, which houses all new hire and hiring manager resources.
  • Works with Director of OD and training managers in other regions to share best practices.
  •  Tracks and administers regional L&D and conference budgets, and provides monthly updates to leadership team
  •  Works with National L&D Planning and Logistics Manager to evaluate orientation and training program effectiveness, communicates progress or areas for improvement back to the organization, and works to continually refine and enhance our approach
  • Administers a consistent process by which employees can request and gain approval of outside training/conference opportunities





















Required Skills/Knowledge/Experience

What You’ve Done:

  • You pretty much have built this program before and come in with a defined opinion, but willingness to
         adapt to specifics in our industry.
  • Motivated, no-bullshit self-starter. Creative. Pragmatic. Relaxed yet enthusiastic attitude.
  • 5+ years business experience, preferably in a position which requires extraordinary attention to detail
  • 3+ years Training program design and management experience in a high tech, marketing company
  • Knowledge of advertising agency/web development business models/processes
  • Working knowledge of ad agency/web dev roles and responsibilities
  • Experienced in self-service, instructor lead, and partner delivered training models
  • BS/BA Degree
  • Masters Degree a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent prioritization skills to individually detect and deliver the most important things first
  • Ability to effectively delegate work across virtual teams
  • Ability to build strong peer relationships
