Waggoner brings big brand marketing expertise to the agency

PORTLAND, March 23, 2010 – Razorfish, one of the world’s largest digital agencies, has named Mark Waggoner to the new position of Executive Creative Director, Brand Creative for the West region.

Waggoner will work with Razorfish clients to deliver breakthrough brand creative across all marketing channels. He will oversee brand creative work for all West accounts, which include clients such as MillerCoors and Microsoft. The move will also give the creative discipline within Razorfish a voice at the management level.

“Mark deeply understands that great client work is not just about being flashy or distinctive. Rather strong brand creative is produced after one looks at the whole picture, including the business problem, and provides a strategic, creative solution,” said Christian Juhl, president of the Razorfish West region. “His experience running creative departments at large agencies will be integral in raising Razorfish’s reputation as an agency that delivers great creative in addition to our expertise in digital, technology and strategy.”

Waggoner will also spearhead the effort of recruiting strong creative talent with big brand expertise to Razorfish’s West region offices. Waggoner is a seasoned creative leader with over 20 years of experience in both traditional and digital. He has been a contractor with Razorfish for the past two years, and was integral to the launch of Bing, as well as the re-launch of the Microsoft Office brand. Prior to joining Razorfish, he served as a Creative Director at Wieden + Kennedy and Sandstrom Partners. Waggoner is a five-time One Show Pencil award winner and his work has appeared over a dozen times in the CA Annual as well as numerous other award shows and industry publications. He holds a BA in Communications from Lewis and Clark College in Portland, OR.
