SEATTLE, January 6, 2010 – Razorfish today announced it was named runner-up in OMMA magazine’s 2009 Agency of the Year award. Razorfish’s Silver designation represents the agency’s highest-ever ranking in the annual assessment.
According to OMMA, the Agency of the Year award “celebrates the agencies that rose above the rest over the past year, the shops that represented the best of class in the online advertising community.” As a Silver winner, Razorfish is recognized as one of the “top two overall agencies for 2009.”
OMMA cited Razorfish’s strong client work, well-rounded capabilities, thought leadership and willingness to “tinker with new and unusual media” as reasons for winning the Silver award. OMMA also mentioned that in 2009 Razorfish “gobbled up tons of awards, landed new clients TravelChannel, Staples and Mercedes-Benz USA, and was named digital AOR for Starwood Hotels & Resorts, ALPO Purina and Mattel.”
OMMA noted that Razorfish stands apart for its thought leadership. According to OMMA, “The agency functions as a think tank and analyst firm . . . It published four reports in 2009 based on proprietary research.”
The OMMA designation caps a strong year for third-party citations about Razorfish. For instance, in 2009, Razorfish was ranked a leader in separate Forrester report cards on agencies’ marketing and website design skills.
